Automated Social Science: Language Models as Scientist and Subjects.
We present an approach for automatically generating and testing, in silico, social scientific hypotheses with large language models. We demonstrate the approach across diverse scenarios, including an auction, a job interview, a bail hearing, and a negotiation.
