Simulating Social Media using Large Language Models.
Can simulating social media platforms using large numbers of interacting LLMs help us improve social media? This presentation shows how LLMs enable an in-silico experimental approach to studying how different designs and algorithms shape the dynamics of public discourse, and to identify how social media can be designed to promote more constructive dialogue.
